Numbers Connect is the data controller for the personal data described below, collected through https://numbersconnect.co.uk (the "Service"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices and rights you have under UK data protection law.

1. What we collect

  • Account details — name, email, password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
  • Identity verification documents — passport, driving licence, or business registration you upload for KYC, plus compliance evidence such as Ofcom certificates or call-warning scripts for premium lines.
  • Call and messaging records — numbers dialled, call duration, timestamps, and SMS message content sent or received through numbers you hold with us, needed to bill correctly and keep an audit trail.
  • Billing information — wallet balance, invoices, and transaction history. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical data — IP address and basic request logs, for security and abuse prevention.

2. Why we process it

  • To provide the Service — provisioning numbers, routing calls, billing your wallet (performance of our contract with you).
  • To meet legal obligations — identity verification and record-keeping required by UK telecom regulation and Ofcom, and standard UK accounting/tax record-keeping for invoices.
  • Legitimate interests — preventing fraud and misuse of premium rate numbers, keeping the Service secure, and responding to support and compliance requests.

3. Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary data with: our wholesale telecom carrier (to provision and route your numbers), our SMS provider (for messaging-enabled numbers), Stripe (for payment processing), and our hosting provider. Identity documents are never shared beyond what's needed to verify you and are only ever viewed by authorised staff through a secure, logged admin tool — never a public link. We don't sell your data, to anyone, ever.

4. How long we keep it

We keep account and billing data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet UK accounting and tax record-keeping obligations. Identity verification documents and call records are retained for the periods required by telecom regulation, after which they're deleted. You can ask us to erase your data sooner, subject to what we're legally required to keep.

5. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct it if it's inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete it, where we're not required to keep it for legal reasons;
  • restrict or object to certain processing; and
  • provide it to you in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

6. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in securely. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

7. Changes to this policy

We'll post any changes here with an updated "last updated" date. For significant changes, we'll let you know directly.

8. Contact
